The 5 S's of Wine Tasting
Sight - Judge the appearance of the Wine
- Look for color/clarity of the Wine when the Wine glass is tilted and its contents viewed against a light source
Swirl - Stimulate the release of the bouquet
Smell - Notice the aroma of the Wine
- Known in the general sense as the "Nose"
Sip - Allow the Wine to linger on your taste buds for a moment
- Taste - First in the "Mouth" or "Palate" followed by the "Finish"
Savor - Evaluate the Wine
